Marine Bill

Defra publish the Draft Marine Bill

  • The draft Marine Bill  - fulfils two of Labour’s 2005 Manifesto commitments – publishing a draft Marine Bill and introducing coastal access around the English coastline.
  • This Bill is an international landmark – no other country has attempted such a strategic approach to the enormously complex issue of managing the marine environment based on principles of sustainable development and better regulation.
